farmers market

I love the farmers market I think we had one at home ... not really sure all i know is with a slower life and time to wander I have fallen in love with the farmers market
The veggies are as yummy as they come and the company seems to be the worlds most laid back people,  you may find me here on Wed afternoons sniffing in the smells and rubbing shoulders with the locals... i like to buy a big fresh squeezed lemonade and weave through the crowds as if I am on a mission to find the best tomato in the place little secret i hate tomatoes ;)

joyous

the ratliffs came a few weeks ago and i would have to say that could not feel less like in laws if they tried. I do not even like those two words and am not sure why the people we come to call family in our lives get those two little words placed around there name.
Well in our family there will be no in laws
Cary and Patti could not make me feel more loved and a part of the family .
They were up for whatever when they hopped off the plane which was great considering Taylor had a lot of things planned for them to see the great  state of CO. We started down town and explored everything there was to see I think everyone's feet were tired when we found the truck a few hours later. Then we were on to Red Rocks no matter how many times i see this place it amazes me.

Next Stop was Golden CO a town taylor loves with all his heart
the view from lookout mountain

to the mama that raised my favorite guy in the World you did a great job and  I love you !!
and you are too cute for words
you look happy and free in this picture I want it on a frame on our wall

the following day we headed to Breckenridge to show them our favorite little spot full of beauty

nothing ends a trip better than a night in dreamy boulder on pearl street

we miss you already hope you come back to stay again soon xoxo

Buena Vista exploring on a broken 4 wheeler

These are some photos I have been meaning to post from a while back. For those of you who are keeping up with us through this avenue, we miss you a ton, I hope they give you a glimpse as to what our life has been like for the past little bit. Before I go on, Amber wanted to make sure that everyone knew that this is Taylor writing.
So what can i say, we absolutely love Buena Vista. We have been there so many times partly because of the YL camp frontier but mostly just because of how awesome it is. Its so awesome in fact, that we decided to buy Amber a four wheeler so we could explore more of it. sounds like a good idea.
Well, i learned a lot from this experience, especially how much a knife in the back it is to know that you got taken. I want to share one with you...
Life Lesson Number Uno:
Dont buy anything expensive and/or mechanical from a home where pot smoke pours out of the garage like fog rolling off the lake

I should have known, but i got too wrapped up in the excitement and the possiblities of what was to come. Seemed like a great guy, very knowledgeable and had tons of other toys. Boy did we get screwed. I like to consider myself a fairly decent mechanic. So i took it around the block a couple times and bought it. Get it home and what does it do the first time amber takes it down the street blazing? It decides to stop and pee out all of its gas through the carb...not good for those who dont know. But i fix it and we take it to Buena Vista for its first run. 15 miles into the wilderness it decides to break down and require major repairs. NO BUENO. So amber and i double back on my moto for 15 miles and take my truck all the way back there. thankfully it wasnt stolen. Without further pause here is the POS
"what could be wrong"

Broken stuff makes me so angry
we still took some time to enjoy the beautiful place we were in

So two months later we get it sold. Bad investment but great learning experience. Right now we are actually in an interview process to try and move to buena vista. it would be a dream, and in trying to decide if we would move if the positions were offered to us one verse has been speaking loudly to me lately, "Wake up O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Be very careful, then how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lords will is." Ephesians 5

So if the Lords biggest will for our life is that we would be made more like him and come to know him more, then i must ask if this decision will bring me closer to him or not. Is this wise for us to do?

We should find out soon! so stay tuned

and i just like this one

visit

when we came to Denver to interview in late March of this year it was snowing and excitement was in the air.... we were hopeful we were expectant we were scared this picture i found today brought me straight back to this moment and this feeling.
Im so thankful for the Lords heart for me and taylor.
that he knows our hearts and has given us the desires of them
he continues to bless us with more than we deserve.
as much adventure and excitement as we chase we long to chase his plans in our lives more
Im so thankful he takes control and leads the way
that he knows what he is doing when i feel so confused.
when i wonder whats next or where he wants us
i take heart in this verse

”A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)

fall

went to the mountains this week and discovered a new fall. the colors are not what east Tennessee offers but the spinning yellow and orange aspen leaves will take your breath away. the baby goats adds little adventure too i got less than a foot from petting this wild little fellow before his mama started stomping here hooves i backed away quickly

25.

9/7/10 Taylor turned 25. And there is no one in the world I love to celebrate more than Taylor. so we celebrated... I made my first homemade cake,  could have been better but he acted as if it was the best cake he had ever had I love this about this man he makes me feel like the best cook in the whole world and I am not.  We sang happy birthday all alone in our little home and laughed a lot considering I kept stopping the song to try to take a picture. We went and saw the other guys which is a movie after Taylor's heart he has quoted every day since. We packed up the car for an adventure for crested butte a city after his heart. All day long he said today I am a quarter of a century old, and that sounded way to old for my liking.  Thankfully he does not act old in many way he continues to be silly, fun, and out of this world adventurous some days its hard to keep up .
All he wanted to do was go camp and Mountain bike so bye golly that is what we did because in my world the world stops and you do whatever the people you love want for there birthday.
crested butte was everything taylor made it  out to be a super sweet town,  beautiful mtns,  great biking and big dandelions which i love. it was a trip that will be remembered for birthdays to come
God was so good to me, when he gave me Taylor cant wait to celebrate every birthday for all our days together.
